These terms apply when you use soundlegacymusic.com or the Sound Legacy app. By using either, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Sound Legacy LLC ("Sound Legacy," "we," "us") runs a music streaming and licensing service. Independent artists upload their music, and listeners, creators, and businesses stream it or license it for their projects. The artists own their music. We license it on their behalf.

2. Who can use Sound Legacy

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sound Legacy. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of Sound Legacy, including any purchases.

Artist accounts, studio plans, and track licenses are only available to people 18 or older.

The information you give us must be accurate. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will close it and delete their information.

3. Accounts

User accounts are for listening and licensing music.
Artist accounts are for musicians who upload original music.
Studio accounts let one account holder give other people access under a single plan (see section 5).

Keep your login private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

4. Subscriptions

We offer several subscription plans, from free access to full commercial licensing. Current plans, features, and prices are listed on our pricing pages. You can pay monthly or yearly. Yearly plans are charged in full at the start of each year. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change.

5. Studio plans

A studio plan covers a set number of seats. The person who buys the plan (the "studio owner") uses one seat and can invite others to fill the rest.

The studio owner pays for the plan and decides who is invited.
Invited members get listening access only, the same as a Stream plan. Studio plans do not include downloads or licenses.
A member's access ends when the owner removes them or when the studio plan ends.
The studio owner is responsible for making sure invited members follow these terms.

6. Single track licenses

You can also buy a one-time license for a single track. License levels range from personal projects to commercial and broadcast use. What each level allows, and its price, is listed on our licensing page.

A single track license never expires, is not exclusive, and cannot be transferred to someone else. It lets you use that track only within the limits of the license level you bought. You do not own the music or its copyright.

7. Album purchases

Buying an album gives your account access to stream that album. It does not include a license to use the music in your own projects. For that, you need a license or a plan that includes licensing.

8. Artist terms

If you upload music as an artist:

You confirm that you own, or have the rights to, everything you upload.
You give Sound Legacy a non-exclusive right to stream, display, and license your music to users on your behalf.
You are paid according to your artist agreement. We share payout rates when you join and will notify you before they change.
Payouts are made monthly and may require a minimum balance.
We may remove any upload that breaks these terms or the law.

9. What you can't do

You may not:

Use Sound Legacy for anything illegal.
Share, resell, or sublicense music from Sound Legacy without permission.
Get around our access limits, previews, or other protections.
Upload music that infringes someone else's rights.
Use bots or other automated tools to copy or download music in bulk.
Give false information about who you are, your age, your plan, or how you'll use a license.
Use licensed music in content that promotes hate, discrimination, harassment, or violence against any person or group.
Use licensed music in pornography or adult entertainment. Mainstream films, TV, and creative work with mature themes are fine.
Use licensed music in any content that targets, exploits, or harms minors.

If licensed music is used in any of these ways, we may cancel the license without a refund. We may also refuse service to anyone whose content conflicts with these rules.

10. SMS/text messaging terms

During account creation, you may optionally provide a phone number and opt in to receive SMS text messages from Sound Legacy LLC. Available message types include: (1) account and order notifications, which are transactional messages about your account or purchases, and/or (2) marketing messages about new music releases and promotional offers. You may opt in to either, both, or neither type independently. Consent to receive SMS messages is not required as a condition of creating an account, making a purchase, or using any part of the platform.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of any SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. For assistance, reply HELP. No mobile information, including phone numbers or SMS opt-in/consent data, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

11. Ownership

Artists own their music. Sound Legacy LLC owns the Sound Legacy name, logo, site design, and our own content. Using Sound Legacy doesn't give you any rights beyond the specific plan or license you paid for.

12. Canceling and account closure

You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account. It stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. We don't refund partial months or years. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

13. No guarantees

Sound Legacy is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, and we can't promise it will always be available. To the extent the law allows, Sound Legacy LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages from your use of the service.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll email you or post a notice on the site. If you keep using Sound Legacy after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
